New Gundam being placed at Tokyo Diver Shopping District

So currently it seems, the first assembly of the upper body of the Unicorn RX 0 Gundam is being fastened down and secured as well as the right arm assembly, at the Tokyo Diver Shopping District where the Former RX-78 2 Gundam which had been guarding that shopping sector for a number of recent years has been removed for fittings and new hardware installations and upgrades.

Cosplayer Pillows: The Creepiness involved.

Ok seriously, this cosplay body pillow incident really grabs my goat. Now I get the whole “You buy a pass to the con, your image could be used for advertising/promotional images”. I’m all for that, I get it and approve. However, when someone takes your photo for supposed free photo-shoots? An alarm in my head goes off. Why would this person be doing it for free? Then to come find out they are placing thee images on Body Pillows with both a front and rear motif and making profit on it w/o the consent of the cosplay/DA Member/Cosplay Prof. and that doesn’t Jive in my book.

The image above was taken from his gallery and set as a prime example of what he’s doing with the images and Body Pillows.

This is not only creepy, it’s illegal (unless you are under contact or signed a photo release agreement of some sort and read the fine pint.) This person is more or less going to appear in court and get raked over the coals you can see it coming. I hope all of the people involved are filing a class action suite against this twatwaffle. You don’t do that to somebody without their *signed* consent and even then where the hell is your moral fiber you dingleberry!

Madarame’s Guide to Con Survival at Anime Banzai

And a 1 and a 2 and 3 and Dance!
And a 1 and a 2 and 3 and Dance!

That’s right being in utah and on a severe budget, one of the “BEST CONVENTIONS” in Utah is “Anime Banzai“. I have narrowed down several items of my own I cannot forget to bring with me to Banzai. Here is my list of MUST HAVES FOR CON SURVIVAL! and I suggest you do the same.

1. Laptop – For blogging and Podcasting
2. Laptop Charger – Never can tell when you will need to recharge
3. Soap – Bathe, take a bar of soap and scrub your armpits. We’ll still be here when you get back.
4. Mobile Phone – Alternate form of electronic communications.
5. Emergency Blanket – It can get cold in the Anime Viewing rooms from time to time.
6. Snacks – Especially is you are Gluten intolerant or Lactose intolerant.
7. PRE-Register – It saves you money and if you don’t live in layton and wish to stay there will be discounts as well if you do pre-register and ask about the discounts.
8. Planning – I cannot stress more on planning out your battle plan when attending Panels, and the dealers room and especially the informal dance on Saturday night.

I find that buying non perishable foods like Oriental Trail mix is great, Pocky and Ramenade for the sweet tooth and local the nearest store (Target) for fruit and veggies. Also if you can spare the time, volunteer or at least offer your services if you arrive a day early or you get to the Main hall early before the doors open. The staff does value their loyal attendees. That’s it from the battlefront for now. Hopefully I’ll be able to cover a fairly new convention to the Salt Lake Community College Redwood Road Campus here in the next few weeks.
